Portrait of Christian Karen Berman, author of *Mirror of My World*

Christian Karen Berman is a memoirist and artist whose writing explores memory, family, identity, and the experience of growing up neurodivergent without understanding why she felt different.

Christian has written for the newsletters Parenting Aspergers and The Art of Autism and for Rabbi Levi Welton.

In Mirror of My World: Reflections on an Undiagnosed Autistic Childhood in the 1980s and 90s, Christian looks back on her early life through vivid memories, family photographs, and the sensory details that stayed with her. She writes openly about childhood confusion, social expectations, family relationships, and the long process of learning to understand herself through the everyday moments that shaped her—some painful, some funny, and many deeply familiar.

Her writing invites readers to consider how childhood experiences influence adult identity and how greater understanding can change the way we view both ourselves and others.
