Ed Horowitz has an MFA in Playwriting from The UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. His parents never thought he’d actually put his advanced degree to any use until he sold a spec script that became the Warner Brother’s movie On Deadly Ground staring Steven Seagal and Michael Caine. Not a great movie, but the head of Warner Brother’s Story Department at the time called it, “One of the best first drafts I’ve read.”

 

After selling several other scripts, Ed wrote K-9: P.I. starring Jim Belushi, the independent film Shark in a Bottle, and Exit Wounds, starring Steven Seagal and DMX. For two seasons Ed was the freelance writer on the USA hit television show La Femme Nikita. He has sold over a half-dozen one-hour television pilots to various networks. Ed has also written a full-length musical and had over 50 short plays produced. Ed has taught TV and Screenwriting at Chapman University, USC, UCLA, and the San Francisco Film School. In his spare time, he’s an ASCAP songwriter.
